Courageous Democrats plan to leave Iraq and face the real enemy!!!

The Democratic leadership has a message for America: "It's time to fight the real enemies of our great nation and leave the Iraqis alone!"

The bold and courageous plan consists of three parts:

1) Get the heck out of Iraq!
2) Take on the really dangerous organization
3) Take on the truly dangerous individual

IRAQ

"Our troops have become the primary target of the insurgency," Murtha said in a Capitol news conference that left him in tears. Islamic insurgents "are united against U.S. forces, and we have become a catalyst for violence," he said. ". . . It's time to bring them home."

(Imagine, the enemy doesn't like us and are united against us? Let's go away from Iraq right now and make them drag their lazy butts all the way over here in order to get their killing fix!)

Organization

DES MOINES, Aug. 16 — Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, a likely Democratic presidential candidate in 2008, delivered a 15-minute, blistering attack to warm applause from Democrats and union organizers here on Wednesday. But Mr. Biden’s main target was not Republicans in Washington, or even his prospective presidential rivals.

It was Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest private employer...

“My problem with Wal-Mart is that I don’t see any indication that they care about the fate of middle-class people,” Mr. Biden said, standing on the sweltering rooftop of the State Historical Society building here. “They talk about paying them $10 an hour. That’s true. How can you live a middle-class life on that?”

...“It’s not anti-business,” said Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana, a former head of the moderate Democratic Leadership Council, appearing at an anti-Wal-Mart rally on Tuesday. “Wal-Mart has become emblematic of the anxiety around the country, and the middle-class squeeze.”

(Good thing the Democrats aren't asleep at the wheel like those darned Republicans, who seem to be focused on small splinter groups like Al-Quaeda and Hamas and Hezbollah with the real enemy located just at the edge of town, featuring a sale on wide-screen TV's. Shocking!!!)

Individual

No Saddam Hussein, no Hassan Nasrallah, no Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-il could possibly be as dangerous to the American way of life as the avowed enemy of the Democrats this year, Joe Lieberman!

A group of Senate Democrats is growing increasingly angry about Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (D-Conn.) campaign tactics since he lost the Democratic primary last week.

If he continues to alienate his colleagues, Lieberman could be stripped of his seniority within the Democratic caucus should he defeat Democrat Ned Lamont in the general election this November, according to some senior Democratic aides.

Even Moderates agree

“I think there’s a lot of concern,” said a senior Democratic aide who has discussed the subject with colleagues. “I think the first step is if the Lieberman thing turns into a side show and hurts our message and ability to take back the Senate, and the White House and the [National Republican Senatorial Committee] manipulate him, there are going to be a lot of unhappy people in our caucus.”

What was Lieberman's greatest sin? Not thinking as a Democrat!

In reference to an opinion piece he wrote in the Wall Street Journal titled “Our Troops Must Stay” Lieberman stated, “I wasn't thinking as a Democrat. I was thinking as an American senator who went to Iraq and saw some progress and wanted to report it to the American people because I feel so deeply that the way this ends will have serious consequences for the future of this country.”

Forget consequences. The far-left, cut-and-run crowd slowly seizing control of the DemocratiParty does not want to hear about them. And it certainly wants nothing more to do with the likes of Joe Lieberman, regardless of what his voting record says.

(Imagine, a politician who thinks of the good of his country before the good of his party or his ability to be re-elected! Where would we be if this kind of thinking began to spread? We shudder, shudder, I say, to think!)
