Introducing Open Doors website and the real world war

The biggest battles are first fought in the hearts and minds of people, not on land or sea.  Christians are being murdered for their faith all across the globe.  The ruthless and selfish ambition of men and the evil teachings hostile to the ordinary man and woman and child are documented on this website!

The real world war is the forces of God and good versus the forces of evil and self.  Satan doesn't have to be involved for people to be selfish and cruel and vicious.

Wikianswers says:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Numerous searches by numerous people have failed to find this exact quotation in any of Burke's writings, and it is now thought to be a 20th Cen. paraphrase.

Here is an Edmund Burke quote that I believe fits nicely into the above 'paraphrase?':

"It is not enough in a situation of trust in the commonwealth, that a man means well to his country; it is not enough that in his single person he never did an evil act, but always voted according to his conscience, and even harangued against every design which he apprehended to be prejudicial to the interests of his country. This innoxious and ineffectual character, that seems formed upon a plan of apology and disculpation, falls miserably short of the mark of public duty. That duty demands and requires that what is right should not only be made known, but made prevalent; that what is evil should not only be detected, but defeated. When the public man omits to put himself in a situation of doing his duty with effect it is an omission that frustrates the purposes of his trust almost as much as if he had formally betrayed it. It is surely no very rational account of a man's life, that he has always acted right but has taken special care to act in such a manner that his endeavours could not possibly be productive of any consequence." (bolded portions mine)

Islam - Communism - Atheism - Socialism - Eugenics - Greed - Revenge - Selfishness - Pride.  God is Love and Light but there is much darkness in the world.  This is one reason I battle with Darwinists.  Do I believe all Darwinists are evil?  No!  I think most of them are simply brainwashed/indoctrinated.  Do I believe Darwinism is evil?  Of course!  Darwinism has been part and parcel to the worst of the European Fascist and Communist dictatorships that enslaved and butchered their own people and began wars that wound up slaughtering millions more.

The heart of Darwin is that we are meaningless and random results of a meaningless and random series of completely statistically impossible accidents and our lives have no particular purpose or meaning.   If that is at the bottom of your belief system, Josef Stalin, while not kill a few million folks to consolidate your power and make the food supply go farther? Jeff Dahmer, why not drill a hole in some guy's head and pour in acid in hopes of making him into a robotic zombie slave?  Average Democratic Political Machine wonk, why not pay people to vote and find ways to make dead people and imaginary people file absentee ballots?  Biology textbook writer/scientist/lecturer/professor, why not include known lies if they promote your belief system?

"Big Lie
Definition:  Complete falsehood told with bravado.
Catch-phrase:  You can fool some of the people all of the time . . .
Examples:  Satan to Eve: “You shall not surely die . . . you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Hitler and Stalin speeches “Commit suicide in a jihad by killing as many innocent civilians as you can in a shopping mall, and you’ll get 72 virgins of your own for an eternity of bliss.” Indulgences: How can you let your dear mother suffer in purgatory?  “If anyone put money into the coffer for a soul in purgatory, the soul would leave purgatory for heaven in the moment one could hear the penny hit the bottom” (Tetzel, 1517). Faith healers, like Peter Popoff using a radio receiver in his ear to fake “word of knowledge” from God Email hoaxes: the Nigeria scam; email scams posing as legitimate banks and corporations; fake warnings about viruses that actually install them in your computer; You have just won $100,000 – click here! Urban legends: Joshua’s long day found by astronomers; Darwin repented on his deathbed; Margaret Murray O'Hair suing the FCC to ban religious broadcasting; Mars will appear as big as the full moon this month; Forward this to everybody you know is often a tip-off. Lenin calling his party the Bolsheviks (majority) when it was really in the minority. KGB “disinformation” campaigns Social engineering, e.g., computer hacker pretending to be a legitimate user, calling technical support for help as if he just forgot his password Bait and switch Satisfaction guaranteed “Your order should be in next week; I promise!” (Delay, delay, hope you’ll go away.) Crocodile tears Toddler: “Mommy, Billy hit me in the fist with his stomach!”  ChiComs: The U.S. knocked down our plane and killed our pilot (he was ramming the U.S. plane). “Non-partisan” voting guides (read the fine print - endorsement paid for by the candidate) “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” Sun Myung Moon’s “heavenly deception” (telling lies to advance the cult) National Enquirer: “Talking dog says astrology cured Jackie’s cancer” or “Elvis lands in UFO with the ultimate diet.” Sennacherib to Hezekiah (II Kings 18:25): “The Lord told me to invade your city.” Tobiah’s emissaries to Nehemiah: “Let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you” (it was just a scheme to make Nehemiah appear cowardly; Nehemiah 6). Suppressing the truth: Palestinian schools have maps of the Middle East with Israel missing, and its history books ignore or misrepresent Israel’s historical presence in Palestine. Chemical evolutionist: Billions of years ago, the oceans were warm and teeming with the building blocks of life. Paleoanthropologist: About six million years ago, our human ancestors migrated out of Africa (blah blah etc. etc.)... then about 30,000 years ago, the Neanderthals proved no match for modern humans, who had invented art and learned to use fire and make tools, due to their superior intelligence....
Anti-creationist Ben Bova, Omni magazine (10/1980): “ So far not one shred of evidence has ever been found to support the Creationist point of view.  Not a fingerbone, not a leaf, not a shard of evidence exists.  We may have been created by some deity or other unfathomable force, but there is no evidence whatsoever that it happened in this way.” Teaching creation in school is unconstitutional. There is no controversy among scientists about evolution. Jared Diamond, Discover magazine (06/1985): “Darwin’s theories yielded thousands of predictions, some of which have been strikingly confirmed: genes, the dating of the fossil record, transitional forms between modern humans and apes.” Piltdown Man Nebraska Man Haeckel’s “biogenetic law” and faked drawings of embryos Archaeoraptor hoax Dobzhansky: “Nothing in biology makes sense apart from evolution.” Reflexive tactic: asserting that your opponent (the truth teller) is telling the big lie.
  • Thumb’s Second Postulate:  An easily-understood, workable falsehood is more useful than a complex, incomprehensible truth.
  • Parker’s Law of Political Speeches:  The truth of any proposition has nothing to do with its credibility and vice versa.
  • Proverbs of Solomon:  The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit. (Proverbs 14:8)"

If a Darwinist tells you that he has absolutes, ask him where they came from and by what authority are they to be believed?  Usually most of them will have a watered-down version of Biblical morality and yet they will deny the validity of the Bible and the existence of God.  Those who claim to believe in God do not believe in the God of the Bible.

My family gives money to missionaries.  We do not give enough. If only all believers in Christ gave at least a small part of their riches to missionaries.  We are not rich compared to so many Americans who give practically nothing to no one.  But at least here in America there are few people being murdered for their beliefs (not that Islamofascists haven't continued to try) so far.  But there sure are a lot of people being murdered by the beliefs of their mothers...they call it abortion.  The woman who brought suit to overturn anti-abortion pro-life laws in this country now works to end abortion.  Abortionists are pro-death.  In this, they do not differ much from the slave traders in Sudan and the Pakistani rapist-murderers and...well, you can read for yourself.  You can also begin to learn about those who wish to make a difference, such as the founder of Open Doors himself.

In the next day or so I am going to show you what it means to be a missionary if even for a very short time, what it means to the people you go to help and care for and what it does to change you for the better.  No more science posts until this is done!

Open Doors World Watch List 2010

Open Doors World Watch List 2010An In-depth Look at Worldwide Persecution
Each year Open Doors releases the World Watch List, a detailed analysis of Christian persecution worldwide. In this free resource, countries are evaluated and ranked according to the severity of persecution that occured in the past year.
This year North Korea again sits at the top the list.
"There is no other country in the world where Christians are being persecuted in such a horrible and systematic manner," says Carl Moeller, President/CEO of Open Doors USA. Watch video interview>>
One expert on North Korea stated: "Christians are the target of fierce government action, and once caught, are not regarded as human. Last year we had evidence that some [of those captured] were used as guinea pigs to test chemical and biological weapons."
Inside the World Watch List you will find an extensive treatment of each of the top countries. You will learn how persecution has intensified or decreased in the last year and projections for the coming year.
We offer the World Watch List free of charge as part of our mission at Open Doors to inform and inspire others with the message of the persecuted. Join the cause of the persecuted and please share the World Watch List with your friends and family. Pass it on>

One dose of copypasta a day wil suffice, thank you very much.

No need to post it twice.

    Agreed.

Badly bungled copypasta is even worse. That giant block of text that's all one link -- it goes to a Blogger "create" page, not any kind of content-page at Open Doors or anywhere else.

I suppose they're trying to do good work, but the constant emphasis on Christianity leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Can't they at least pay lip service to non-Christian victims of persecution? Maybe they could even mention Uganda, where the Christian majority is responsible for the most horrific kinds of human rights violations?

I think this "some animals are more equal than others" attitude is making them look hypocritical. Maybe we could send them a signal by donating money to Amnesty International instead?

That said, I'm wondering if these groups can really accomplish anything. The worst countries on the list don't care about trade sanctions, and I think the lesson of Iraq is that we can't just invade countries and somehow convince their people to be nice to each other.

Maybe the best thing we can do is just set a good example and hope that some day they'll decide to imitate us.

On that note, does everyone know that September 12th is "Burn a Confederate Flag Day"? The Constitution has come under threat over the past few weeks...there are a lot of people talking about trashing the 14th Amendment. There's also an ugly movement afoot that's trying to block people from building houses of worship. What better way to protest than to burn this country's best-known symbol of treason and oppression?

I'm looking forward to seeing a big Tea Party turnout for this. A lot of foolish people have been saying that the Tea Party movement is racist, and this is a golden opportunity for the members to show where they stand.

The link goes to the Open Doors section I linked and the link on the sidebar goes to the main page. I didn't think JW needed help negotiating links. I have no idea how the post duplicated but it is gone now.

You are joking. 8/18 is "call out chaos day" and you are being called out. This is one of the more ridiculous ideas ever.

Yeah, right. A Confederate flag is a bigger threat to freedom and the American Way of Life than the Obama/Chicago Political Machine and their attempt to convert the nation into a vast serfdom with a small liberal elitist aristocracy?

September 12th is the day after 9/11 and normal, real Americans will be celebrating Constitutional America and not burning a freaking flag from 150 years ago! 9/12 is the day Tea Parties will rally to tell the government to go back to the Constitution or in November they will go back home! 9/12 is the day we remember the heroes of the 9/11 aftermath like firefighters and policemen and other emergency responders.

You want to go somewhere and burn a Confederate flag? On that day? What next, declare December 25th a "Let's boo black and white movies" day? How about next 4th of July you try to declare it a "National Day of Flyswatting?" Wow.

Let them build the Mosque like Chaos said. And then Chaos won't object to thousands of Tea Party members parading outside in protest every single day to make them leave. Constitutional rights go both ways after all. Let Christians stand outside and hand out fliers, picket signs, and we'll see how long this so called respect for the Constitution lasts.

Why would Tea Party members object to a mosque?

No, it doesn't, Radar. It goes to this page: http://www.blogger.com/post-create.do

    They don't.

Everybody's going too fast for me and I'm not sure what points you're making.

Radar, what part of what I said was a lie? There are horrific human rights violations happening in Uganda, many of these violations are being done in the name of Christianity, and the Open Door people don't seem to have much to say about that. (Possibly because it doesn't fit into their Christians-as-victims narrative, but I'm open to alternate explanations.)

I see lots of Tea Party people insulting the Swastika and the Hammer-and-Sickle, so I'd think they'd be happy to complete the Trifecta of Evil by insulting the Confederate Flag, too. Especially today, when the 14th Amendment is under direct assault.

I've got to disagree that the Confederate Flag is something "from 150 years ago". It's still being flown today, for the same reasons it was flown back then. (In contrast, hardly anybody flies the Nazi flag anymore, and I don't think anyone at all is still flying the Soviet flag!)

Highboy, I'm completely lost. Who do you think will be protesting what, when, and why or why not?

Anyway, us non-Christians are used to being protested, by Fred Phelps and by others. It happens so much that most of us don't have the energy it would take to get upset. As long as the protesters aren't violating local noise laws and aren't blocking the entrance and aren't shooting people, we just tune them out.

"Why would Tea Party members object to a mosque?"

    "They don't."

That's good to hear. But wait, you're the same guy who said this:

"And then Chaos won't object to thousands of Tea Party members parading outside in protest every single day to make them leave."

    So I'll rephrase:

    instead of

"Why would Tea Party members object to a mosque?"

    how about

"Why would thousands of Tea Party members parade outside a mosque in protest every single day to make them leave?"
