Looking at the Pre-Flood World (Thanks to Creation Moments) - More introduction to the Noahic Flood!

1. Jews call the first Book of their Bible BERESHITH because this is the first word of Genesis and means “In beginning.” The meaning is reflected in the New Testament Greek, EN ARCHE, of John 1:1. The absence of the article and language here means that heaven and earth had a beginning – Creatio ex nihilo – created from nothing. Moreover, the use of the conjunction WAW “and” between clauses precludes the introduction of gaps or vast spans of time as demanded by the doctrine of theistic evolution. The first day [Gen. 1:3] there was light, given as OR, and again in Psalms 104:2 where God covers Himself with a garment of OR. However, this word and the related word ORAH, is used as a metaphor for knowledge. Likely, it was this light that shone from Moses face in Genesis 34:29-35. Recall the aura or nimbus seen on the heads of saints in classic paintings e.g. Bartolommeo. Creation of the light bearers, MAOR, the sun, moon, stars, appeared on the fourth day.

2. Genesis 2:7 describes the creation of Adam.

3. Adam’s Physical appearance. Genesis 1:31 God declared that all He had made was “very good” and reasonably this means perfect.

4. Adam’s mental ability. Jesus said of the man born blind [John 9:3] that “neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.” Some children today are born with Asperger’s Syndrome [autism] while about 1% have amazing mental abilities e.g. especially superb memories.

(Radar note: We have an Asperger's child and he is not only a gifted artist, he has begun his own business at an early age. He is already world-renowned in his particular niche. One would call him an artisan now. He had to learn how to socialize with others, because he does not have the natural sense of how to relate to people. But he has learned quite well, has several friends and is also welcomed in the company of older people. He is a young man who is very thoughtful and reasons soundly and well).

5. Adam’s Soul and Spirit. Previously we saw that at the creation of Adam God’s Spirit of life became divided at the nostril: part became the spirit of life for the soul and part the spirit of life for the body.

6. Soul is eternal.

7. Difference between Soul and Spirit. Soul is translated from the Hebrew NEPHESH or from the Greek PSUCHE or PSYCHE. Both soul and spirit have been mistranslated [99 times in the KJV as “life”].

8. Effect of Adam’s Fall.

9. The Veil. Exodus 26:31-36 describes the tabernacle veil that separated Man from God. The veil was colored purple and red, the same colors as the Great Harlot [Revelation 17:4] indicating its connection with sin. Catholic Marian images use the same colors. The temple veil was torn when Jesus died [Matthew 27:51] while 2 Corinthians 3:13-16 states that Jesus came to remove the veil between Man and God.

10. God’s Use of the Veil. There are seven spirits of God and His Spirit of life – not the Holy Spirit – is in every living thing. With this understanding it becomes easier to see how flocks of birds and schools of fish can behave as a single organism.

11. Some Extraordinary Minds.

12. Conclusion. It has long been argued -- and Dale Carnegie capitalized upon it -- that Man uses only 10% of his brain capacity. The evolutionist objects to this argument since it implies that evolution is driven by more than blind chance suggesting intelligent guidance [teleology].

Thoughts primarily for Christians who know the Bible...

I would not agree with every conclusion of the author as the concept of God instructing Satan to inspire evil is not Biblical and we cannot be sure what the Seven Spirits of God actually represent. Most likely, since Revelations is a prophetic book, that prophetic language was used in reference to the Holy Spirit, using the number seven as a sign of perfection. Secondarily, and less likely, is the idea that these are in reference to angels or cherubim and also a reference to Isaiah 11:2 is possible.

One must interpret the Bible by comparing scripture to scripture and also knowing the time, the human instrument of authorship, the intent and audience of the passages and the general type of book, for instance history or wisdom or prophecy? With so many factors to consider, speaking with authority about the seven spirits is not wise and to suggest that God "instructed Satan to inspire others for evil" would be completely out of character for a God of Good and Light, in Whom is no darkness.

On the other hand, the world of our antediluvian ancestors most likely did become a disaster primarily because men could live for nearly 1,000 years and learn to do great evil. We know that mankind can be very evil at a very young age. Imagine a horror like John Wayne Gacy having hundreds of years to devise means to lure young men and children into a ghastly fate? Suppose Josef Stalin had been able to be alive and healthy for centuries, would the millions he slaughtered have become billions?

Noah did take only land-dwelling vertebrates (including birds, which must set foot upon land and do not remain airborne) sent to him by God into the Ark along with his family. The Hebrew word for these organisms is nephesh chayyah, which could be translated as breathing soul or living soul or living creature modified by the language "of every creeping thing of the ground (NAS)" in which the word (ramas) remes is used and means creeping things or moving things.

Mankind was not primitive before the Flood, not at all, but rather had mastered evil and, for this reason, God decided to reboot the world and significantly shorten life spans (Genesis 6:3) and make other changes in the environment as a result of those changes - different atmospheric conditions, different ecosystems, and the end of the order precluding the eating of flesh by mankind. We can be sure disobedient man hunted and ate meat before the Flood but God's will was that man would be limited to vegetation and probably insects as well. After the Flood, God allowed man to hunt and eat or to herd and eat animals. By the way, the kind is min or myn and the phrase bara myn means created/formed kind. That is where the term Baraminology comes from, the study of created kinds...the continuation of the job Linnaeus sought to do when beginning his classification system.

Genesis 6:18-22 -
But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. As for you, take for yourself some of all food which is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be for food for you and for them.” Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did.

Genesis 9:1-7 -
And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given. Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it.

And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood,
By man his blood shall be shed,
For in the image of God
He made man.
“As for you, be fruitful and multiply;
Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”
