Running for Congress, Mark Leyva sends out links

Mark Leyva is likely running for Congress against an Obama rubber-stamp named Viscloskey. Leyva has only a tiny chance to win, since the Congressional First District in Indiana includes East Chicago, Gary and Hammond, poverty-stricken areas where the residents vote almost 100% Democrat while the guys they vote in run their communities into the ground. It is truly heartbreaking to drive through (doors locked and ready to drive like a maniac) through parts of Gary that used to be rows of small mansions but are now havens for gangs and squatters and addicts. Fancy stone lions still guard some houses once majestic that now have broken windows and falling-in roofs. Yet the common man votes Democratic like he takes a breath. What a shame!

In any event, Leyva fights the good fight and sends out links to friends and supporters each week. Here is an example:

Be Safe Ladies:

If you are driving at night and eggs are thrown at your
windshield, do not operate the wiper and spray any water, because eggs mixed with
water become milky and block your vision up to 92.5% so you are forced
to stop at the roadside and become a victim of robbers. This is a new
technique used by robbers. Please inform your friends and relatives.
This also happens on interstates near exits.

"Remember the scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" where Jimmy Stewart pleads with his customers to reject Potter by warning, "He's already got the bank ... the bus line ... the department stores"? Director Frank Capra was, of course, warning against the Hollywood left's traditional bogeyman -- the greedy, fat-cat capitalist who sought to crush the "little man."

But let's update that speech a bit: "He's got the auto industry, the banks, the lending institutions, the health care industry, the energy industry ..." Pretty scary, right?

How ironic: We've always been led to believe that the "Big-Brother" destruction of our freedom will come from the political right when it should be obvious by now that it's sneaking up from the left, disguised by a charismatic smile and the promise of "hope" and "change." And when Potter shouts "Happy New Year to you -- in jail!", we can all ponder the new House health care bill's ultimate penalty for failure to comply: a $250 fine and up to five years in the slammer (Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation letter, Nov 5).

Urge Sens. Evan Bayh and Dick Lugar -- (202) 224-3121 -- to stop the health care assault!
