Just So Stories and Mass Extinctions

Materialists who are selling Darwinism are fond of mass extinctions in the alleged history of Earth. They are mystified by things like "the great dying", but present numerous scenarios for these supposed events. For the most part, they are simply telling stories without real foundations.

Creationists and materialists have the same data to work with. Interpretations are based on worldviews, and secularists come up short when trying to explain mass extinctions.

Problems in origins science and the age of the earth are based on worldviews. Atheists and other evolutionists presuppose that there is no Creator and the Bible is false, so they interpret what they see using that dim light. Biblical creationists interpret data by presupposing that God is real, does not lie, and has explained things in his Word. We all have the same data.

There is no such thing as "their evidence" and "our evidence". However, materialists are unwilling to examine evidence for recent creation (which is abundant) because they are unwilling to see the truth, and also because they have been conditioned to think in terms of naturalism and deep time.
Creationists, who acknowledge God as Creator of the universe (a God who has revealed Himself in the Bible), take the account of a great Flood in Genesis as historical narrative. That cataclysm is responsible for the fossils, and it occurred not that long ago, they allege, based on detailed genealogies provided, and known histories of people groups who spread out after the Tower of Babel.
There are also extrabiblical clues to this event. . . . Numerous other geophysical clues indicate the earth cannot be billions of years old.
Darwin’s theory, based on Lyell’s slow-and-gradual worldview, loves long ages – indeed, requires them. The assumed age of the earth has been stretching from a few tens of millions of years in Darwin’s day to the current consensus of 4.5 billion years. Ignoring the other indicators of a young earth because of the taint of creationism, they find solace in radiometric dating methods that give the moyboys the millions and billions of years that they want. . . .
