A Clinical Look at Creationism and Same-Sex Attraction

People have wondered why same-sex attraction exists in humans, including among self-confessed homosexuals. There have been numerous studies in psychology, theology, medical science, genetics, and other areas. Biblical creationists have also examined same-sex attraction from their worldview.

People have wondered about same-sex attraction for many years, and scientists have studied it for decades. Here is a medical creation science view.

This post was written and scheduled a month prior to publication here. Several things came to my attention and were added in, and I'm even adding something the day before publishing. So, yes, there are several links that I hope you will find useful.

Today, people who control the narrative Although heterosexual relationships and marriage have been the norm in most societies for millennia, there has been an increase in not only acceptance, but celebration of their lifestyle. Some have tried to twist the Bible so that it supports gay relationships (see Dr. James R. White's response to Matthew Vines), asserting the now-refuted "gay gene" speculation, and other factors.

Although the percentage of homosexuals in the world is quite small, the media makes it seem that the number is much larger (which is touched on in this article about popular culture and propaganda). Perhaps a form of "Stockholm Syndrome" exists in mainstream science: It has been hijacked by political and cultural leftist snollygosters, and secular scientists are denying science in favor of such views.

What follows is a very direct and occasionally somewhat graphic article from a medical and creation science perspective. It is interesting that when people attempt to use evolution to justify homosexuality, the commit the fallacy of exclusion by ignoring important details. The following article is rather lengthy and heavily documented. Although published in 1995, it is still relevant today and extremely informative.
The evolutionist view of the origin of homosexuality in contrast to the creationist explanation is reviewed. Creationists conclude that the physical bodies and minds of humans were designed to produce heterosexual behaviour for the primary purposes of reproduction and bonding. Darwinism would select for fertility and thus heterosexuality, but would be neutral relative to homosexual behaviour that did not interfere with reproduction rates. No clear evidence exists that most homosexual behaviour is biologically caused or determined, although indications exist that it may be influenced by pathological development of the hypothalamus or other brain structures. It is also concluded that homosexuals as commonly defined are statistically infrequent, primarily homosexual behaviour exists, and the majority of individuals labelled homosexuals are more properly labelled bisexual.

To finish reading, make the trip over to "Creationism and the problem of homosexual behaviour". Also, three other links help underscore the complexity of the situations and questions that arise.

Two are feedback articles. The first is "Hermaphrodites and homosexuality — Morality cannot be decided by biological abnormalities", followed by a letter from a reader with disingenuous objections, "Did CMI use a bad argument against homosexuality?" Finally, a woman "confronted by the gospel, including God’s plans for Adam and Eve, a national LGBT activist saw Christ transform everything about her life—including her identity" can be read or heard on MP3 at "A Journey from a Homosexual Lifestyle to Christ". Note that some points in that last article apply to anyone who wants to live a genuine Christian lifestyle.
