Thanks for praying, caring...

My niece Natalie had a very successful surgery and is recovering nicely.

Our friend Cindy still is battling cancer, no updates right now.

Rob and Christy had twin sons!!! They are healthy but small. Christy will be so glad to be out of the hospital, finally.

Current news

Our friend Jeff had to have a brain tumor removed. He is doing well after surgery.

My illness, a sinus infection, became worse and after treatment I now take antibiotics, cough syrup with codeine, tylenol with codeine and a couple of other meds. Glad my doctor didn't make me go to the hospital but I am on bedrest. Just got up from 15 hours passed out after finally killing off my coughing at about 3 AM last night.

I am too tired to even read comments or make a post other than this. Thanks for your prayers and good wishes. I hope to be back to work by Friday and may be up to regular blogging tomorrow or Friday. For now, back to bed.

I can't say I'll pray, but my thoughts are with you all; I can certainly sympathize with friends and relatives fighting cancer. With courage and the support of loved ones the fight is that much easier.

And having inherited the family sinuses I feel for you Radar; take it well.

Your loved ones are in my prayers, Radar. All my best to them and you.

I've been enjoying your blog for a few days now. Thanks for the link to my "Anthem of the Illegals" post.

Feel better soon.

Well, I'm glad to see the bacteria freedom fighters in your sinuses have yet to give up the fight. Don't give up simply because Radar has used the nuclear option and dropped antibiotics! Carry on and you shall prevail!!

Anyway, it's good to hear that your niece and the twins are doing well. I don't pray as much as a good Catholic boy should, but I wish you all the best of health from the bottom of my heart.

That's good to hear, Radar. I've been to two funerals in the past week and a half, and my elderly neighbour just collapsed and is in the hospital.

Best wishes to all these various health battles, and I hope Christy had a good birth - I was almost going to say an easy birth, but even the "easy" ones are far, far from easy, as far as I can tell from my limited male perspective. Then again, a friend of mine refused painkillers both times she gave birth, and described the experience as "discomfort, not pain". Go figure. A macho mom.

Very good to hear about your niece. Very good. Same goes for your friend... and give the proud parents my congratulations.

Hope your sinus bug runs its course sometime soon. That's one of the only types of illness that can really wipe me out. Gotta respect our microbial overlords for being a billionth our size and still knocking us off our feet every once in a while.

Kinda makes the David and Goliath story dull in comparison.

... Okay, so I like microbes, but you knew that.
