Ancient Easter Creed Defeats Naturalism
One of the oldest books in the New Testament is the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians, which may even predate the first Gospel narratives. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, his writing changes a bit. Scholars have analyzed this, and it contains the oldest Christian creed.
It clearly states that the Resurrection of Jesus was a historical event. Paul essentially challenged people to check it for themselves and talk with eyewitnesses, since most of them were still alive at the time of his writing. The foolishness of Jesus Myth ideas cannot deal with the facts, they deny history.

Paul clearly believed that Adam was the first man, and that he was specially created. He refers to Jesus as the last Adam and also as the Creator. If you study on it, Paul was extremely well-respected in Judaism and had a great deal to lose by following Christ and affirming his deity. He did this boldly, beginning with the public act of baptism. Paul was imprisoned, tortured, and ultimately executed for the sake of Christ. He could have walked away.
The bodily Resurrection of Jesus was a historical event that validates his claims, he defeated death — and without which, Christianity is a worthless footnote in history. In addition, atheistic naturalism is refuted, as is the fundamentally-flawed mindset that spawned evolution. Jesus believed and taught a literal Adam, the Genesis Flood, and recent creation. He truly is Lord. All who humble themselves, repent, and put their faith in Jesus can experience the love and forgiveness of God, and will have eternal life.
The bodily Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the heart and soul of Christianity. The earliest Christians boldly proclaimed the Resurrection as the central tenet of the faith and ultimate proof of Jesus’ deity. Without the Resurrection, Christianity is dead. The apostle Paul stated it succinctly, ‘And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! (1 Corinthians 15:17)’
As with the brutal crucifixion, the Resurrection of our Saviour is rooted in the real history of Genesis. The apostle Paul confirms the historicity of Genesis in 1 Corinthians 15:21–22 ‘For since by [a] man came death, by man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.’
